Last week-end at the World Championships in Muro Leccese in Italy Bas Lammers proved that he had not forgotten a thing during his seven months racing break...

In the time practice Bas had to settle with the 25th position and had to start in row N° 5 for the heats.
In the first heat he fought up to position 2, unfortunately had a problem with his carburettor and dropped back to place 10. In the second heat he had engine trouble. After these two "bad" classings we already had to start worrying about qualifying for the final. No more "goofers" were allowed...

Bas put his best foot forward and in the following three heats came in twice 1st and once 2nd.
With these results he started in 12th position for the pre-final. The fight for the World Championship title had begun. Bas successively fought up to the front and finished the race in 5th position.

A good starting position for the grand final, as Bas could now start from row 3 on the inside.
In the final Davide Fore, Arnaud Kozlinski and Bas were very close behind each together during a long time. The three of them gave themselves a run for their money.

When Fore started to gain more and more distance Bas did not want to let him take off, succeeded in passing Kozlinski, who however did not put up with this and passed Bas again in his turn.
While these two continued their fight, Fore seized his chance and gained further meters, crossed the finishing line in first position followed by Kozlinski and Bas, who missed the vice title by only one tenth of a second.

The French Swiss Hutless Driver Damien Claverie started in 27th position in the pre-finals and finished 22nd. In the final he came in 18th.

Michi and Marc Grabher performed very well at the Federation Cup. After a breathtaking fight between the two brothers Michi came in 3rd and Marc 6th.
