Last weekend the Winter-Cup took place in Lonato.
The whole week it was very cold and it rained dring most runnings, except in the final in the Formula A. The whole Swiss Hutless racing team traveled with high motivation to Italy. The first tests in Lonato were very convincing. The Swiss Hutless drivers participated in the categories Formula A, ICA and Juniors.
In the Formula A, all drivers reached the final. Bas Lammers came after a convincing race 10th! Alban Varutti was very well started and but finished then after an accident 29th. Also Pierre Ragues reached the final. But he had to give up at the beginning because his kart did not start due to a defective spark plug.
In the category ICA, Michael Ryall, David Mengesdorf and Adrian Gugger were starting for the Swiss Hutless team. Michael Ryall had problems with the tyres the whole weekend and reached with a 17th place in the semi-finals the final unfortunately not. David Mengesdorf was 3rd in the first heat and had to give up the race in the semifinal, after he was rammed by a competitor. Adrian Gugger had some difficulties in the time practise but then he performed very well during the heats and reached the semi-final and even the final! But then, in a good position being, he had to give up the race.
In the category Junior all Swiss Hutless pilots reached the semi-finals. Alex Fontana had problems with the rain and crossed the finishing line in position 21. The semi-final participation was for Jaafar Jazman a great success and he finished the race in 18th position. Toomas Heikkinen and Rudy Van Buren reached the final with very good places in the semi-finals. Toomas Heikkinen came 8th after a very good performance in the race and Rudy Van Buren crosses the finishing line in 14th position after a crash in the race.
