The sun was shining all week-end long for the 4th race of the French Championship which took place in Lyon.
As preparation for the World Championship of category Super-ICC, Manuel
Renaudie changed from category Elite in categorie 125 with great success!
During the time qualification he set his SWISS HUTLESS chassis on pole-position, despite of much traffic on the track.
By winning the first and the second heat Manu ensured the pole-postition for the prefinal starting-grid. Finally he passed the finishing line on the second position, by racing the fastest lap.
Manuel was thus looking forward to the final with confidence, but already in the first corner he was pushed out in the grass by a competitor. When he came back on track he was on 7th position only. But this was no reason for the French driver to give up! Manu caught up place by place, again setting up fastest lap time and crossed the finish line finally on the third position, behind Bleek and Letailleur.
SWISS HUTLESS SGM proved to be a very competitive combination and gives us a lot of motivation for the World Championship Super-ICC that will take place in Sarno at the beginning of September!
Most notably SWISS HUTLESS drivers in category Elite were Alban Varutti and Darren Bressaglia, both showing a nice performance by arriving regularely in the top 5 positions during the heats.
This added up to a good starting position for the prefinal.
Unfortunately for Alban Varutti the dream of a top classification ended up abruptly in the first corner by being involved in a start-crash with 8 other drivers, among them 2 other SWISS HUTLESS drivers, Harmen Oomkens and Tomi Limmonen.
In the final his mission was therefore to spare no efforts to come back in the front again. Started from 26th position Alban was on place 11 after a few laps only, but dropped then out of the track by touching a competitor during a spectacular overtaking at the end of the home stretch.
Best SWISS HUTLESS driver was Darren Bressaglia who finished the final on 14th position.
Loic Verrier, the driver of our dealer in Carcassonne (FR) was participating for the very first time in category Elite and finished 17th. Congratulation for this performance.
The winner in category Elite is Nelson Panciatici, in front of Julien Poncelet and Arnaud Kozlinski.
The next race for our international team will take place in 3 weeks in La Conca its the third heat of the European Championship Formula A.
