Beautiful weather accompanied this race in the city of Rom on Monday, 1 st November. The 660m long circuit was set up around several blocks of houses.
SWISS HUTLESS was represented by Michael Grabher, Gianni Gazzurelli, Pierre Ragues and Bas Lammers.
The time practise was split up in two series. Due to the fact that the circuit was extremely tyre killing many pilots gambled with the application of their tyres. For our drivers the results were the following: Lammers 4 th , Ragues 13 th , Grabher 14 th and Gazzurelli 15 th .
There were no heats, for which reason the time practice directly determined the line-up for the first final.
Pierre Ragues and Michael Grabher both caught up 5 places and crossed the finishing line 8 th and 9 th . Gianni Gazzurelli came in 12 th .
Bas started in 4 th position. Ben Hanley, who was in pole position, dropped out after a driving error, Bas passed Armand Convers after few laps and ascertained the 2 nd place.
In the second final Michael Grabher was the best SWISS HUTLESS driver finishing in 8 th position, followed by Pierre Ragues (9 th ), Bas Lammers (10 th ) and Gianni Gazzurelli (11 th ).
Michael was pleased with this result, considering that he was only able to participate in 2 races this year and practically never could practice as he had to attend basic military training.
Bas won the start and was 50m ahead after only 3 laps when the race was discontinued due to a rollover Riccardo Cinti had.
In the second attempt Bas started in second position again, the corporate competition however did not want to risk a repeated getaway.
The 3 drivers in the starting positions 1, 3 and 5 took advantage of the situation and crossed the finishing line one after the other, bumper to bumper.
In a relatively dishonourable team work they forced Bas of the route...
he had to push his kart back into the race and finished10 th .
Francesco Antonucci won the race ahead of Sauro Cesetti and Marco Ardigo.
