Last week-end, under hot weather conditions, the second race of the European Championship of category Formula A, ICC and Super ICC was taking place in Varennes (France).

A total of 12 SWISS HUTLESS drivers was on the inscription list. They all were looking forward to interesting races on the fast French track (in Varennes the average speed is about 100 km/h).

Formula-A

In this category there were first of all the two drivers of the team SWISS HUTLESS Racing with Darren Bressaglia and Randy Bakker who were doing a convincing job. Both of them were showing a faultless achievement during the whole week-end. Darren qualified 7 th , 6 th and 3 rd in his heats. But in one of his heats he unfortunately had a technical problem which forced him to give up the race. Because of this mattter, he fall back in the intermediate classification and had to start 18 th in final 1. Obviously he was not very impressed of this fact, cause nevertheless he finished both finals in the top-10. He came in 10 th and 9 th .
Randy Bakker was in all heats among the first ten. He came in 9 th , 9 th , 8 th and 4 th . In both finals he made the same classifications as Darren did, but in contrary order. He made 9 th and 10 th .

Marc Grabher made place 48 th in the time qualifications. During the heats he had several problems when he was fighting against his competitors and made some rides in the grass. He came in 24 th , 21 st , 14 th and 13 th . With this results he was unfortunately not qualified for the final.

Pierre Ragues

The team SWISS HUTLESS Competition by Racing Service Ragues had in category Formula A with Damien Claverie and Pierre Ragues two drivers on the starting grid. Damien was fighting a lot during the heats and overtook many other drivers, but in the end he always had a crash. Also when he did his last heat, but this time the collision was so hard that he had to be broght to the hospital with suspicion of broken ribs. Fortunately they finally diagnosed only contusions. We wish Damien getting well soon.

Pierre Ragues did not really reved this week-end. Nevertheless he came in 9 th in his last heat, he was not able to qualify for the final

Our 3 official drivers still had to learn a lot this week-end.

Oliver Oakes made a good time qualification and could classify 11 th . Therefore he could always start in the second starting grid for the heats. His results were 20st (because of an accident), 9 th and twice 7 th . In race 1 he came in 22 nd , and in race 2 he won 8 places and ended on place 14 th . With this result he collected his first 2 points for the championship.

Kevin Cuoco was very unlucky in the time qualification. After only one driven lap he lost his spark plug cover and classified only on place 60. This signified to start always in the back for the heats and to gain 26 places for still beeing able to participate in the final. But he succeeded due to his great catching up in the heats. He finished 17 th , 15 th , 13 th and 9 th . Unfortunately he dropped out in both finals.

Simona De Silvestro was very fast during the free-practice on Thursday and Friday and wanted to show the men the ropes one time more.

Unfortunately that was not always working out... Simona showed thrilling overtakings, which unfortunately also ended several times with a run in the grass. She made 13 th , 13 th , 12 th and 8 th . Nevertheless she was qualified for the final. However she had to give up the race twice because of loosing his front-spoiler.

Category ICC

In the 125ccm shifter class we had two SWISS HUTLESS drivers. Hervé Faure and Jérôme Demay. Both were showing their good potential among the favorites already during the free-practice.

Hervé Faure gave proof of that fact immediately by starting from the pole-position in the first final due to his good results in the heats. Also Jérôme qualified for the final for the first time.

In the two final races he was a little bit unlucky. He dropped out in both of them.

Hervé was doing better and came in 4 th in the first race and 9 th in the second one.
